Schattdecor and Fine Decor conclude their joint venture agreement

The surface specialist Schattdecor and film manufacturer Fine Decor have decided to conclude their joint venture. Schattdecor SE is transferring its 50% ownership stake to Hasan Sekmann, the founder of Fine Decor. According to Roland Auer, CEO of Schattdecor SE, the investment in Fine Decor did not achieve the anticipated entrepreneurial synergy.

“True to our motto ‘One Source. Unlimited Solutions’, we have continuously expanded our product portfolio over the past decades. We see a promising field with great potential for our customers, especially in the processing of new substrates, such as thermoplastic surfaces,” says Auer.

Schattdecor is continuing to pursue its strategy of further developing thermoplastic surfaces. The company will invest more in its own technological expertise and infrastructure in this area and has already laid a solid foundation with successful own brands such as the tried-and-tested Smartflex Nature furniture film.

The priority now is ensuring seamless service for their customers and partners. They will continue to have the flexibility to select products from Schattdecor or opt for Fineflex through Fine Decor, just as they did before.

Ever since the company was founded in 1985, sustainability has been a central element of Schattdecor’s corporate management. Even back then, when producing decorative paper, we only used environmentally friendly high-tech products made from natural raw materials such as water, casein and organic pigments.
